Prerequisites

  • You are a Global Administrator (or have sufficient permissions) in your Microsoft 365/Azure tenant.
  • You can sign in to the Azure portal and Microsoft 365 admin center.
  • You have checked whether your subscription type is eligible for an administrative move (vs. technical migration).
Note: GDAP invitations expire; please complete the steps below promptly after receiving them.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. We create your Azure Plan (no action needed)

Eden Akers creates a new Azure Plan in our marketplace (Xvantage). This includes one default subscription container.

  2. We submit the transfer request (no action needed)

We coordinate timing with your existing partner. Billing flips to Eden Akers on the agreed transfer date.

  3. Perform the AOBO steps (customer action)

Follow our AOBO guide to grant the required billing access for the subscription that’s being transferred.

Open: AOBO Manual – Adding Ingram Micro to an Azure Subscription

  4. Accept the GDAP relationship (customer action)

GDAP gives us least-privileged, time-bound admin access so we can support your environment safely.

Tip: Make sure a Global Admin is signed in to accept the GDAP invitation.
  5. Assign Reader + set Partner Admin Link (PAL) (customer action)

This associates our Partner ID with your subscription for accurate attribution and managed services.

Open: Assigning Reader Role and Partner Admin Link (PAL)

  6. Accept the CSP Reseller Relationship (customer action)

This allows Eden Akers to transact and manage licenses on your behalf. It does not grant tenant-wide admin access.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need both GDAP and the CSP reseller relationship?

Yes. GDAP grants scoped administrative access for support. The CSP reseller relationship enables licensing & commerce. They serve different purposes and are both required for a smooth transfer.

What is PAL and why do I still need it if I have GDAP?

PAL links our Partner ID to activity in your Azure subscription for attribution and managed services reporting. It complements GDAP but doesn’t replace it.

How long does the transfer take?

Timing depends on the source partner’s approval and completion of the customer actions above. We’ll coordinate the effective billing date with you.

Which subscription types can be moved administratively?

See our guidance on which Azure subscription types can be transferred via administrative move versus those that require a technical migration.
