Purpose
This article provides guidance on the Reseller Relationship invitation link generated by the Microsoft Partner Center. It enables Eden Akers to transact and manage Microsoft subscriptions on behalf of customers via the CSP (Cloud Solution Provider) program.
What Is This Link?
The link that is shared with you looks like...
... and is a unique, partner-generated CSP Reseller Relationship invitation link.
This link is not a Partner Admin Link (PAL) and not a GDAP request.
It initiates a reseller relationship between Eden Akers and the customer's Microsoft 365 tenant.
Accepting the link in the Microsoft 365 admin center assigns the partner as the customer's Reseller of Record, enabling the partner to purchase, manage, and support licenses on their behalf.
- It enables the Eden Akers Cloud Marketplace to Provision (Create) and Deprovision (Reduce or Remove) Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365 Licenses and Azure Plan in the Customer's Tenant
Key Differences: PAL vs. Reseller Link vs. GDAP
Link Type | Purpose | What Customer Grants |
---|---|---|
CSP Reseller Relationship | Enables partner to buy/manage subscriptions | Adds Eden Akers as Reseller; no directory access |
Partner Admin Link (PAL) | (Legacy) Associates partner partner ID with Azure subscription | Read-only authorization on subscription (deprecated model) |
GDAP Invitation | Grants least-privileged admin roles for support access by Eden Akers | Allows Eden Akers to manage selected and customer approved workloads in Microsoft Entra |
Reseller link provides transactional and billing privileges, but no admin roles in directory.
PAL is deprecated and used at Azure subscription level, not for CSP billing.
GDAP is a separate admin-access workflow requiring explicit customer approval of roles.
