When transitioning customers from other Microsoft Partners we are taking the follow important factors into account:

  • Avoiding duplicate costs paid for the existing subscriptions and for the new ones provisioned by Eden Akers
  • Make sure that users are never without a license to avoid interruptions.
  • Cater for stalled license provisioning.

To adhere to these factors, our process for transitioning customers to the Eden Akers Marketplace goes as follows:

  1. Eden Akers will create the new customer in the Eden Akers Cloud Marketplace and grant the customer access for full self-service. For that the New Customer needs to provide the below information using this form:
    • The name of the vanity domain. I.e. <<vanity>>.onmicrosoft.com
    • The VAT number
    • The email address where the invoices need to be send.
    • A list of people who need access to the Marketplace (First Name, Last Name and email address)
  2. A Partner Relationship (link) will be established between Eden Akers, our Distributor Also and the new Customer's Tenant
  3. Transferring the Licenses for NCE
One Working Day before current licenses expire, the exact same set of existing licenses is provisioned from the Eden Akers Marketplace into the Tenant of the new customer
    1. Microsoft Auto-Claim policies will make sure that expired licenses will be replaced by the newly provisioned ones, making sure that affected users can continue to work without interruptions
    2. The reason for doing this 24 hours before the existing licenses expire, and thus introducing 1 working day of cost-overlap, is to be able to cater for a situation where license provisioning, where our Marketplace is using the Microsoft API, is stalled (which sometimes happens as we have experienced)
    3. Expired existing Licenses are now replaced by those from the Eden Akers Marketplace and the customer can start to manage their licenses via the Eden Akers Marketplace and gain insights using our Cloud Cost Control Solution.
  4. Transferring Azure
The Transfer of Azure is an administrative process. Please read this article for more information on how Azure is transferred to Eden Akers.

Notes:

  • Subscriptions can be cancelled with a period of 7 calendar days, before they become definitive for their chosen duration (1 month or 1 year, currently)
  • A widely used and supported method of price protection for future (already known) price increases is to order a single license for the applicable subscription for the duration of 1 year. The number of that license can then, against the price that was valid at the moment of purchase of the single license, be increased at any desired moment within these 12 months.
  • Upgrades are in the majority of the situations supported for already active licenses and they will continue to run for the remainder of the duration of the original license.
  • Important: Azure Subscriptions created via the Eden Akers Cloud Marketplace can only be managed by a specific Azure Admin User after the steps from the article "How to manage newly created Azure Subscriptions"
