Introduction

This article explains how to add a Microsoft Azure Plan to your organization's tenant using the Cloud Marketplace. A Microsoft Azure Plan provides a unified billing structure under which multiple Azure subscriptions can be created and managed. Each Azure subscription within an Azure Plan enables separate administration, billing, resource allocation, and access management, offering flexibility and control tailored to your organization's needs.

The instructions provided below will guide IT administrators through the steps of setting up an Azure Plan, establishing a solid foundation for managing and scaling your Azure environment effectively.

Step 1: Access the Marketplace

To add a new license, start by navigating to the Marketplace in one of two ways:

  • From the Dashboard page, select Marketplace [Browse], or

  • From the left-side navigation menu, click Marketplace.

This will take you directly to the Marketplace, where you can browse available licenses and services.

Step 2: Locate the Azure Plan

To find the Azure Plan within the Cloud Marketplace:

  • Enter "Azure New Commerce Experience (NCE)" in the Cloud Marketplace Search bar at the top of the screen.

  • The search results will display relevant offerings, allowing you to select the appropriate Azure Plan product to proceed.

  • Click [Add to Cartto continue
  • When done, click on the Cart Icon:

Step 3: Review Your Azure Plan in the Cart

After selecting the Azure New Commerce Experience (NCE) plan, the contents of your cart will be displayed for review:

  • Verify that the Azure Plan is correctly listed in the cart.

  • Note that the price for the Azure Plan itself is €0.00, as billing is based on actual monthly consumption under a pay-as-you-go model.

  • There are typically no modifications required for an Azure Plan at this stage.

Once verified, proceed to the next step by clicking [Next].

Step 4: Set Up the NCE Azure Purchase

In this step, you will configure the details for your Azure subscription within the Azure Plan. Choose from one of two options:

  • Register a new Azure Subscription with a new Microsoft Domain
This option will create a new Entra ID environment specifically for identities associated with this Azure subscription.

  • Register a new Azure Subscription in an existing Microsoft Domain
Select this option to use your existing Microsoft 365 vanity domain name (ending with .onmicrosoft.com). In this scenario, the Azure subscription will share the same Entra ID environment as your Microsoft 365 (and Dynamics 365, if applicable).

Make your selection based on your organization's identity and domain strategy, then click [Next] to proceed.

Step 5: Confirm State-Owned Entity Status

After entering your tenant’s vanity domain name, you'll be asked to confirm your organization's status:

  • Indicate whether your organization is a State-Owned Entity

Click [Next] to continue

Step 6: Finalize Your Order

In this final step, you have the opportunity to provide additional information before completing your purchase:

  • Promo Code:
Enter a valid promo code provided by Microsoft or Eden Akers, if applicable.

  • PO Number (Optional):
Enter a purchase order number for internal reference or tracking purposes.

  • Agreement Acceptance:
Review and accept the following terms by selecting the corresponding checkbox:

    • Ingram Micro Cloud Services General Terms of Service

    • Microsoft Terms and Conditions

    • Supplemental Terms for Cloud Products and Services

Once all necessary information has been provided and terms accepted, finalize your purchase by clicking [Buy].

Step 7: Order Completed

After successfully submitting your order, you'll arrive at the Thanks for your Order screen. From here, you have two options:

  • Continue Shopping:
Select this option to return to the Cloud Marketplace and make additional purchases.

  • Track Order:
Click this option to monitor the provisioning status and details of your completed order.

Note: The approval process may take up to four hours. Once approved, the Azure Plan will become available to all users with Global Administrator permissions in the Entra ID tenant linked to the newly created plan.
